About

Robin Banks

Keynote Speaker · Facilitator · Master of Ceremonies

Robin Banks helps leaders and teams turn insight into action. A Johannesburg-based keynote speaker, facilitator and MC, Robin has worked with more than 300 organisations across Africa, the UK and the Middle East.

Robin Banks grew up in Benoni and started out in retail banking, where a decade of leading branch teams through mergers, retrenchments and system migrations taught one lesson above all: people don't resist change, they resist confusion. In 2011 Robin left banking to build a speaking and facilitation practice around that idea. Since then Robin has delivered keynotes and workshops for financial services groups, mining houses, retailers, national and provincial government, universities and faith communities — from 40-person leadership offsites in the Magaliesberg to 3 000-seat conferences at the Sandton Convention Centre. Robin's sessions are known for being practical, warm and honest. Every engagement starts with a brief from the client's people, not just its executives, and ends with a concrete set of behaviours teams can try the next morning. Robin is also a sought-after master of ceremonies for awards evenings and multi-day conferences. Robin is the author of Move the Room and The Facilitator's Playbook, hosts The Room podcast, and leads faculty at the Robin Banks Academy, which has trained more than 400 emerging speakers and facilitators.
