Energy, pacing and one clear outcome are the levers of a session that lands.
Energy, pacing and one clear outcome are the levers of a session that lands. Most workshops fail in the design, not the delivery.
Write the outcome as a sentence that starts with 'By the end, the group will have…'. If you cannot finish that sentence, you are not ready to design the agenda.
Vary the rhythm every fifteen to twenty minutes: individual reflection, pairs, small groups, whole room. Changes in format reset attention far better than another coffee break.
And protect the last half hour. The end of a workshop is where commitments are made, and it is always the part that gets squeezed when the morning overruns. Design it first and defend it fiercely.
